Katie Ridd (Springer Nature)

Global Editorial Talent Manager at Springer Nature

Katie completed her PhD at Liverpool John Moore’s University where she studied cellular toxicology. She then went on to complete post-doctoral positions in the UK and US; both of which investigated skin cancer. Katie then changed direction and embarked on an editorial career. She joined Nature Protocols as a maternity cover in 2008 and moved to Nature Communications in 2009 just before the journal’s launch. She managed the cancer team at Nature Communications 2016. Katie is currently on secondment from Nature Communications and is the Springer Nature Global Editorial Talent Manager; she spends her time thinking about how to recruit, train and develop the careers of editorial and publishing staff.
